Hot Dog Tommy’s is the king of dogs. Got The Nor’Easter which is a monster dog with slaw and fries. Sounds bizarre right? It was very delicious. On a crazy busy Saturday during Memorial Day weekend I only waited 30 mins considering the massive queue. And I think the owner (the guy with the hotdog hat) was giving out samples and is incredibly nice. My favorite quote from him “At Hotdog Tommy’s everyone has a name, not a number”.
Hot Dog Tommy’s is the best!! The owner is a really nice guy and he’s always there. You can tell he takes pride in his business. Very personable and friendly. The hot dogs are so good! Honestly, they’re up there with Hot Grill and Rutts Hut (IYKYK). This is a must try if you’re in Cape May. Also, the slushie lemonade drinks are really good too.
Have to get a hot dog here is you’re visiting cape may! Line is always long down the block but hot dog combos are great and worth the wait for the experience.
Super delicious, inexpensive hot dogs with many different topping options and dog thickness ("bad dog" vs "leaner wiener") and friendly service. The line will often extend to Beach Ave from the ordering window. We also tried the small slushy - Stewarts root beer and Stewarts Orange Cream flavor. The size was just 8 oz - the perfect taster size. Update - 2yrs later. A staple visit of our Cape May vacation.
It’s on a little side street and you place an order at the window. There are so many options! If you’re looking for a big greasy delicious hot dog, this is the spot! Friendly staff and always a good cheat meal to indulge in. We always make sure to stop here on our trips to Cape May! The long line speaks for itself - it’s typically always this busy!!!
One of the best things about shore towns is the seasonality and the build up of anticipation for those things that made you happy last summer. Tommy's is like that. The owner, Bruce, is a fun, people-focused, creative mad scientist that keeps you coming back for more. He chatted with me as I waited for my order to be filled and in that 5-10 minutes he was greeted by name by no fewer than three people and he offered a free bottled water to a bike-mounted police officer. Everything he does here is with care and sincerity. Oh, and then dogs were on point, too. I did Bad Dog Chicago, a Junkyard and my wife did a secret sauce and sweet relish. Wait on the line, chat up your fellow dog lovers and enjoy the experience. It's like family.
So good! I got a Texas Tommy with a bad dog, and it was awesome. My boyfriend got the junk yard dog with a bad dog, and loved his too! We also tried the French fries, which were fresh and delicious! We will definitely be back again to work our way through the menu. The staff is also super friendly!
Hot Dog Tommy is great and so is the food. Wonderful selection of creative dogs or design your own from a huge selection of toppings. Get there early on nice weather days because there will be a line! Cash preferred but cards accepted.
